The 9-1-1 Emergency Response system in the TCI can also be developed and built upon. For example, the first phase of the project covers Providenciales though in the longer term it would be expected that all the islands in the country would benefit from a reliable emergency response system. Funding for specific projects and functions is always welcome and as such any donations would go directly to the service provider / the purchase of equipment rather than to 9-1-1 itself. This therefore means that 9-1-1 is only raising enough funding as is required for it to fulfill its main function of providing a reliable, dependable and secure emergency response service.
